Science, experience, and business vision

At PBB, we drive the transition toward more sustainable and circular materials to bring biotechnology to industry.

Our history

Evolution with an industrial vision

PlantBased Biotech is a Spanish biotechnology company headquartered in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia), created with the ambition to contribute to a more sustainable and circular industry through biotechnology and materials science. Our goal is to promote the reduction of fossil-based plastics through the development of bioplastics for industrial applications.

The project originated in Chile, where research began and a patent linked to this technology was obtained. Subsequently, its development was moved to Spain to advance research, validation, and scaling, reinforcing its connection to the scientific, technological, and industrial ecosystem.
